Dated: 22nd October 2016, The 25th Founder’s Day and Annual Athletic Meet of Pestle Weed College was celebrated with gaiety in its premises. The celebration included various cultural programme, alumni re-union and athletic events in which the students took part enthusiastically. The first day, 21st October 2016 was dedicated to the alumni of Pestle Weed College. A basketball match between the alumni and the present team of Pestle Weed College was played in the morning wherein both the teams exhibited the variety of skills & techniques that they possess and the proud alumni won the match in a neck to neck battle. In the afternoon, a 20-20 cricket match was also played between the alumni and the present cricket team of the school wherein the present team proved its dominance and won the match by six wickets. This followed with the re-union celebration and musical evening. Some nostalgic moments were shared by the alumni which made everyone emotional and made everyone realize their attachment with the alma mater. The past and the present students enjoyed thoroughly the musical evening. The second day, 22nd October 2016 was dedicated to the Annual Athletic Meet of Pestle Weed College and the other institutions run under the umbrella of Children’s Academy Association namely, Pestle Weed College of Information Technology, Children’s Academy and Kay Cee Public School. The school annual exhibition was also visited by the parents and guests who applauded the wonderful and aesthetic display of the exhibition. Lt Gen S K Saini, YSM, VSM, Commandant, Indian Military Academy, Dehradun graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. In various athletic events such as long jump, high jump, gymnastic, yoga, judo, different kinds of races, umbrella PT, dandiya, formation drill and march past, the students of the four institutions performed with their heart and soul out. Various races of the tiny tots were extremely attractive and impressive which was enjoyed by all the spectators. The races of the senior section were also a thrill to watch. The drill formation presented by the students of Children’s Academy was highly appreciated by the spectators as every move of the students was very well synchronized and executed to the perfection. The best athlete trophy in Section-A was grabbed by Saffal Khadka of Kay Cee Public School, Section-B to Pratap Chaudhary of Children’s Academy, Section-C to Prince Chaudhary of Pestle Weed College, Section-D to Shivam Pal of Pestle Weed College and Section-D to Shrirudhi Basnyat of Pestle Weed College. Aryan Sethi and Pranjal Gupta were adjudged the best judo player and Akshat Jain & Ananya Chhetri was adjudged as the best drill performers. We well awaited March Past trophy was lifted by the Girls of Children’s Academy. The winners of different field and track events were also awarded with the medals and certificates. There was a special event organized, a Tug of War between the alumni and the appointees of Pestle Weed College wherein the alumni proved their dominance and won the event. The Chief Guest, Lt Gen S K Saini, in his addressed emphasized on the importance of sports and discipline during the school years. Gen Saini appreciated the wonderful show put up by the budding students. He also appreciated the efforts of the teachers and the management for providing such vast platform for the students and imbibing right training in them in order to execute so well in their respective events. He also congratulated the management and the entire Pestle Weed fraternity for their Silver Jubilee Year. Shri Prem Kashyap, Principal Pestle Weed College, in his address threw light on the achievements and accomplishments of Pestle Weed College in the past 25 years. He himself being an ardent lover of sports, encouraged the children to participate more in the sports activities. He emphasized on the balanced and holistic development of the students and described the role of teachers and parents in upbringing of the children. Mr. Kashyap congratulated the winners and encouraged the other participants of the events. The other dignitaries present on this occasion were Shri S C Virmani, Shri Anil Mehra, Brig G S Bath, Brig N C Mehra, Gen K N Bhatt, Mrs. Kiran Kashyap, Mrs. Anish Arora, Dr. Giteeka Mehrotra, Mr. B P Uniyal, Mr. G S Bisht, Mr. J B Sharma, Mr. Jatin Sethi, Mr. Vineet Kumar Sharma etc.
